VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a separated group of resources of a real server or cloud of servers. The main difference between the VPS and a shared hosting is based on the fact that VPS server has its own independent operating system and software. Such solution is a sort of compromise between price and efficiency of the server in use. One can say that VPS is positioned in between cheap shared hosting and expensive dedicated server.
